ABB at Power-Gen Europe 2010

2010-06-22 - ABB plays a key role in helping the power generation sector to add new capacity and enhance energy efficiency through optimization solutions, regardless of whether they are conventional or renewable energy based plants.

ABB recently participated in POWER-GEN Europe, one of the premier events for the power generation industry. The three-day event was held in Amsterdam and ABB’s focus was on the new technologies on offer. The exhibition was held in conjunction with a multiple track conference featuring strategic and technical presentations by leading experts in the industry. ABB presented twelve papers in the conference.

"The event was a great opportunity to gather market insights and connect with significant customers like MHI, GE, RWE, E.ON, Vattenfall and others on a common platform", said Markus Bruegmann, Head of Marketing and Sales for BU Power Generation.

ABB participated with a 280 m² booth and showcased a range of products, systems and services for power generation industry. Led by BU-PSP (Power Generation) business ABB presented itself as a one-stop solution with a comprehensive power and automation portfolio including Electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) solutions. Some of the key products showcased included transformers, instrumentation, LV switchgear, MV drives, power plant control, optimization, service and renewable energy and water solutions.

The feedback from customers and visitors was extremely positive and the new brand guidelines were well received, differentiating ABB from other participants. On the whole the event was a success and several key customer contacts and leads were generated.
